THE CHARLIE PARKERS SUPPORT FORMER CAST AND THE LA's MAN THIS THURSDAY (4th September)


The promoter of the Charlie Parkers' show at the Water Rats in July was so impressed by the band's set and turnout of Parkers supporters, the band have landed a slot as main support to one of their heroes, John Power.

John is probably most famous for the La's classic 'There She Goes' before he formed Britpop million sellers Cast, whose Top Ten hits included 'Alright', 'Sandstorm', 'Walk Away' and 'Flying'.

The CPs have also been pencilled in for another high profile support slot at the Water Rats - so your support for this one (the Parkers' only London show in
September) will really make a difference!

The Parkers are onstage just after 9pm, tickets are on sale for £9, but there is discounted entry of £6 for anyone on the Charlie Parkers guestlist - to get on the list just email the band at

Rough mixes of three of the tracks from the Charlie Parkers' eagerly-anticipated forthcoming debut 'If You Knew' EP have been uploaded to the band's myspace page!

The band are currently mixing the record and the first rough versions off the press are of 'There Are Many More Important Things Than What We Have For Tea (I Need Your Love)', 'If You Knew' and 'From Now On'.
